Joseph Chalverus

Joe Chalverus is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office with a focus in the mechanical and electronic arts.  He routinely consults in all areas of intellectual property law, including litigation support, prosecution of patents and trademarks, copyrights and trade secret law in Federal and State Courts. Joe has over 35 years of litigation experience before Federal, State, trial and appeal courts, in civil, criminal defense and intellectual property disputes.   He received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Law with an undergraduate degree in Physics. He is fluent in Spanish.

Prior to law, Joe conducted basic research and graduate studies in solid state and bio-physics at New York University. He worked as a field engineer for Sperry Systems Management’s  inertial navigation systems used on surface and submarine vessels and taught celestial navigation theory and practice to operators of navigation equipment.  He also worked as a sales engineer for Hewlett-Packard Company for scientific and measurement equipment, was a solar energy consultant to the Environmental Quality Board and Department of Natural Resources for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, where he is authorized to practice law as well as in the State of Washington.

Joe is married, has three grown children and enjoys travel, bicycling and astrophysics as hobbies.
