She works closely with foreign firms but also works with entrepreneurial individuals, start-ups, midsized companies, and Fortune 500 companies. Hilde holds a BS in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science (MS) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She received her JD from[ Lewis and Clark Law School.](https://law.lclark.edu/) She is licensed to practice in Oregon and registered as a patent attorney with the [U.S. Patent and Trademark Office](http://www.uspto.gov/). Hilde began her patent career as a trainee at an intellectual property firm in Belgium. She has prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in a wide variety of technologies, including consumer products, mechanical devices, healthcare-related devices, optical devices, wireless communication systems, renewable energy-related systems, and automotive technologies. She is a member of the [American Intellectual Property Association](http://www.aipla.org/Pages/default.aspx) (AIPLA), National Association of Patent Practitioners (NAPP), and[ Oregon Patent Law Association](http://www.orpatlaw.org/OPLA/OPLA.html). Hilde’s native language is Dutch.
